Allie & Ollie
Allie and Oliver’s story began at university, with an app, a sushi date by the beach, and a connection that came easily despite two very different beginnings. Allie grew up in Vancouver, while Oliver spent much of his life moving between cities around the world. Somewhere between their Italian and Danish roots, a shared love of family, fitness and good food, they found something that simply worked.
A few years later, they took a leap together and moved to the Okanagan for Oliver’s work. What started as a new chapter became home , the place where they grew together, built a life, and eventually chose to gather the people closest to them for their wedding.
Set amongst the vineyards of Lake Country, 50th Parallel Estate Winery felt like a natural setting for their day. Modern architecture against rows of vines, long summer light across the valley, incredible food and wine, and a celebration that felt elegant without ever losing its warmth.
But as beautiful as an Okanagan winery wedding can be, it was the people who made this one memorable.
There were tears as Allie’s dad spoke about his daughter marrying the man of her dreams, giving one of those rare speeches that seemed to quiet the entire room. Later came a moment almost no one expected, Oliver and his mom surprising everyone with a choreographed dance that completely changed the energy of the evening.
The tenderness and the laughter, the polished details and the completely unscripted moments , it all existed alongside one another.
That is what we’ll remember most about Allie and Oliver’s wedding at 50th Parallel Estate Winery: a beautiful place, certainly, but an even better collection of people and moments within it. The kind of wedding that reminds us why we love documenting celebrations here in the Okanagan, and why the photographs that endure are so often the ones no one could have planned.
