Laura & Scott
If you're planning a wedding at Cedar Creek Estate Winery in Kelowna, Laura and Scott's day is exactly the kind of inspiration we'd send you. Vineyard views over Okanagan Lake, a pergola ceremony dressed in suspended clouds of blush and champagne blooms, and a reception that carried golden-hour light straight through to a dance floor under string lights — this is Okanagan wedding photography at its best, and one of our favourite weddings to shoot this year as a Kelowna wedding photographer and videographer team.
We've shot a number of weddings on the Cedar Creek property, and this one stood out for how unhurried it felt from the very first hour. Every detail — the floral arch, the family-style dinner, the coffee cart tucked under a white patio umbrella — was built around giving Laura and Scott, and their guests, room to actually be in the moment. That's the kind of day that photographs and films beautifully, because nothing about it feels staged for the camera.
Their Love Story
We always ask couples to tell us how they met, because it's usually the heart of the whole gallery. Here's Laura and Scott's, in her words:
We met during my first day of work, back in 2018. We were friends for a long time before slowly starting to date. A year later, Scott moved to Toronto for work, and I decided we were going to make long distance work — I'm so glad he agreed.
A friendship first, patience through long distance, and a wedding day back home in the Okanagan seven years later. It's the kind of story that makes a wedding film worth watching twice — and exactly why we shoot photo and video together whenever a couple's story has this much room to breathe.
Getting Ready
The morning started early, with hair and makeup by Cassidy Watt Artistry working through a full bridal party of five bridesmaids, a flower girl, and both mothers before Laura stepped into her dress just after 1pm. Our team split coverage between Laura's and Scott's getting-ready spaces that morning, so neither side of the day got missed — one of the reasons we build two-person coverage into most of our Cedar Creek Estate Winery weddings. By early afternoon, both getting-ready suites were a blur of steamers, string lights, and last-minute boutonniere pins before everyone loaded into shuttle vans for the ride to the venue.
First Look at Cedar Creek Park
Before the ceremony, Laura and Scott shared a private first look nearby at Cedar Creek Park. It's one of our favourite spots for exactly this reason: soft open shade, lake views, and enough quiet distance from the main venue that a couple gets a real, unrushed moment together before the day picks up speed. For any couple planning a vineyard wedding in Kelowna, building in twenty unhurried minutes like this is one of the best things a timeline can do for the photos.
The Ceremony
Guests arrived at Cedar Creek to sparkling rosé passed on arrival, a coffee cart pouring throughout the pre-ceremony hour, and a DJ setting the tone before anyone even sat down. Laura and Scott were married under the estate's modern pergola, styled with three suspended clouds of blush, champagne, and dusty rose blooms — garden roses, cosmos, dahlias, and scabiosa, designed by Rambling Wild Florals in partnership with Created Lovely Events. Scott walked down the aisle first with his parents, followed by six groomsmen; Laura followed with her parents to close out the processional. The ceremony closed with a private legal signing witnessed by two of their closest friends, then the newlyweds walked back out together to open applause.
Little musical details carried real weight through the ceremony too — a slow instrumental for the processional, a swell into something bigger as Laura came down the aisle, and an upbeat exit song that had the whole crowd on their feet. If you're planning your own Cedar Creek wedding ceremony, it's worth giving your DJ or musician that level of song-by-song direction; it changes the whole pacing of the film.
Cocktail Hour and Reception
Cocktail hour ran a full hour on the upper lawn, with Cedar Creek's own estate wines poured alongside canapés and a coffee bar serving hot coffee, iced coffee, and affogato. The reception then moved into the winery's restaurant space for a family-style dinner under wood-beam ceilings and hanging lantern lighting, paired with Cedar Creek's Platinum-tier reds and whites. Blush velvet linens, ceramic bud vases, and loose garden-style centerpieces carried the ceremony's floral palette straight through to the tables, finished with rose gold flatware and handmade paper menus sealed in wax.
Speeches ran between courses rather than all at once — toasts from the wedding party, then both fathers, then the newlyweds themselves right before cutting a two-tier cake pressed with dried wildflowers. A first dance and father-daughter dance followed dinner, and the night carried on with a photo booth and dancing that ran well past dark — the kind of reception where the whole room stays on the floor until last call.
Why Cedar Creek Estate Winery Works So Well for Weddings
For couples researching Kelowna wedding venues, Cedar Creek offers a rare combination: a proper pergola ceremony space with lake views, an in-house restaurant that can host the reception without a tent, and grounds close enough to downtown Kelowna and West Kelowna hotels that guest logistics stay simple. As a Kelowna-based photographer and videographer team who've shot multiple weddings on this property, it's one of the venues we recommend most often to couples who want that vineyard look without the added cost and complexity of a fully off-grid location.

Questions & Answers
01.
Do you photograph weddings at Cedar Creek Estate Winery?
Yes — Cedar Creek is one of our most-booked Okanagan venues. We know the property's ceremony pergola, restaurant reception space, and best light throughout the day, which helps us build a tighter, more efficient timeline for couples getting married there.
02.
Can you provide both photography and videography for a Cedar Creek wedding?
Yes. Laura and Scott booked us for combined photo and video coverage, which is our most popular package for full-day Okanagan winery weddings — one team, one timeline, no coordinating two separate vendors.
03.
How far in advance should we book a Kelowna wedding photographer for Cedar Creek?
Cedar Creek is a popular venue, and our summer and early-fall dates typically book eight to twelve months out. If you have a date in mind, reaching out early is the best way to hold your photographer and videographer together.
04.
Do you shoot other Okanagan winery weddings besides Cedar Creek?
Yes — we regularly shoot at Liquidity, Painted Rock, and 50th Parallel, along with other venues across the Okanagan Valley.
